Community Health Alliance (CHA) is a Virginia-based 501 (c)(3) organization that was created by a consortium of not-for-profit hospitals in 2002 to improve access to healthcare services and resources for those in need. Additionally, CHA aims to enhance the continuity of care for patients requiring coordination and communication across multiple providers.
CHA gained its tax-exempt designation by the IRS in July 2003. Central Virginia Health Network, Inc. (CVHN) is the sole corporate member of CHA.
CHA's vision is to become a leading catalyst for the creation of community programs and partnerships that improve the health of Virginia's medically underserved populations. Effectiveness will be measured by improvements in access, coverage, care coordination, health literacy and use of other proven interventions.
